Wrong On Every Level
During difficult economic times, we all must take firm measures to control “weather the storm”. We only make purchases that are necessary and look for good value in the things we do buy. We set aside money in case things get worse. We do without many things we’d LIKE to have.
Our government, however, doesn’t seem to operate that way. They don’t tighten the belt… they spend MORE! From what I can tell, it seems many politicians see so-called stimulus plans as just another way to fund their pet projects and further their social engineering objectives. Here is yet another example of the “leadership” we see in Congress:
So, the messages here are:
- Children are a burden on the economy - seems like every time my wife and I had a child, we purchased MORE goods and services in the marketplace. Besides, if they are raised with good values, those children grow up to be taxpayers!
- Children cost the government money - I don’t recall the government helping me buy diapers and all the other things we needed… but maybe Congress is only concerned about those who have become dependent on government support.
- People should only have children in “good times” - everything should be planned and, if it’s not convenient, well…
- The government knows if you should have children or not - … we should depend on the government to plan everything for us. After all, the government knows what’s best for us, right?
Maybe our government should tell us not only when to have children… but how many we are allowed to have! Wait…. isn’t that what they do in China?
Where is our leadership?
