Abuse of Leadership
We elect our country’s “leaders” to REPRESENT us… to express our wishes when developing laws and making decisions about spending OUR money. While it is impossible for them to follow any given individual’s wishes since there will be conflicting views, I find it deplorable that those in charge of our government are seriously considering going against the views of the MAJORITY of people with regard to the currently proposed health care legislation.
There are, admittedly, SOME problems with the current system… but no SERIOUS solutions are included in the direction under consideration. It is almost entirely a POLITICAL solution, which is no solution at all. Government actions like this led us into the current economic mess, which was fomented by ridiculous interference into sound mortgage lending practices… and it will take MANY YEARS for us to dig out of the huge economic hole that was dug as a result.
Passing the current health care “plan” will make the mortgage meltdown look trivial… and our country might never recover from it.
NOW is the time to aggressively express your concerns to your elected officials… ALL of them… up and down the line… national AND local (since “the word” will travel up the political chain). In the past, we have trusted our leadership to do the right thing and gone about our daily lives.
While there have always been politicians who failed to abide by their SWORN DUTY to uphold the Constitution, there was at least a majority of moral people who countered the negative efforts of the few. Now, TOO MANY are taking the passive support of us citizens for granted. The balance has crossed over to where there are more conniving representatives than honest ones, where there are MORE LIARS than truth-tellers… more who say one thing to get elected and immediately fail to follow their word and vote according to their promises… more who will look you in the eye and tell you something that is completely, utterly, undoubtedly untrue. And not blink.
Rise up, fellow citizens, and take back your country.
