Republic Rules - The U.S.A. is a great representative republic.

An ongoing discussion of how it works… and why it works.

True Leadership…

… is rare.

Especially in elected representatives.

The novices are refreshing in their attitude but quickly get lost in the power shuffle, their laudable ideas smothered by the need to conform to the “greater needs” of their party.  It is disappointing how quickly the  promises of the (re)elected turn into quite different voting patterns.  And it is frightening how blatant veteran politicians are in their exercise of power and overt concern for the wishes of their party with far less regard of the needs of the nation.

Leaders with a stated vision and the discipline to follow through on their promises are few and far between.  Public servants have lost the big picture… they are focused on their own needs or those of their political party and no longer think in terms of what is TRULY best for our country.

And WE allow this to continue by remaining silent, by following like sheep, by acknowledging the problem yet not making any effort to fix it.  Apathy never solves anything.   If citizens would continually, loudly voice their true feeling, politicians would be awakened from their “business as usual” routine and be forced to change or risk losing their jobs.  Until we SPEAK UP, however, they will continue to serve themselves more than us.
